Who I am

Hello! Hola!

My name is Cristal Guerrero, and I’m a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to making a difference; starting with your mind and emotional well-being.

As a first-generation Mexican American raised in South Central Los Angeles, I understand the power of resilience. I didn't let my environment define me. I worked hard, overcame obstacles, and developed a deep passion for supporting others, especially those who, like me, come from underrepresented communities.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz; four years that were fun, eye-opening, and at times challenging. That experience exposed me to disparities in access and privilege, deepening my commitment to mental health work. I pursued a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, where I truly found my calling. I fell in love with the process of healing, growth, and helping people find their voice and strength.

Outside of the therapy room, I prioritize balance and joy in my own life. I enjoy staying active, going out for brunch with my girlfriends, and spending quality time with my family. These moments keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of connection — something I also strive to cultivate in my work with clients.

Today, I bring compassion, cultural understanding, and clinical expertise to every session. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to thrive; as we work together to get to the root of what’s holding you back, and help you grow from there.
